Root Canals
Root Canals
Root canal treatment is generally needed when the pulp inside your tooth is decayed or the nerve of your tooth is infected. This usually results in the following symptoms:
- Experiencing severe toothache when you chew or apply pressure to the tooth
- Continued pain that occurs when you eat or drink a substance that is a hot or cold temperature
- Darkening of your tooth
- Swelling in the nearby area
- A persistent pimple on the nearby gums
Root canal treatment has the reputation of being painful, but we do our best to give you the most comforting and pain-free experience possible. If you suffer from a decayed or infected tooth, we strongly recommend coming into our office right away. If you do not do so, the swelling could spread to other areas of the body, you could lose bone along the tip of the root, or drainage problems could occur in your tooth. These are all very serious consequences that need to be avoided.
